For artist Wang Shui's LED sculpture Scr∴pe II I collaborated as the Interaction Designer and Technical Producer for the installation at the Whitney Biennial in New York City.
Shui's vision for the sculpture included two screens, a main panel array mounted to the ceiling measuring 10ft by 10ft, and a secondary array deemed the "parasite" consisting of flexible LED screens and LED strands that cling to the main LED array. This parasitic screen uses a number of sensors to read light values from the main screen to influence its own visualizations.
As part of the sculpture I designed and constructed bespoke copper clad PCBs to act as sensors for the parasitic screen. The sculpture also makes use of a sensor hub I custom designed to feed data into TouchDesigner.
