Here are pictures of the same house in the late 1960's after what usually happens to houses in the wonderful city of Detroit, MI. John Clark was very well off financially from the income of his patents on picture framing processes. So well off that he bought each of his nine children a house. The houses on both sides were his children's at one time. This one eventually passed to my great grandfather Gustavus and then to my grandfather Edward. The house on the left was owned by Edward Johnson Brandon.

What a difference 50 years makes.
